There has been a lot of talk this year about certain games or series being "must win" for the Orioles. I don't subscribe to that theory (tm - Larry David). Unless it is a must win or you are out of the playoffs (see Game 162 last year), individual games or series don't define a season. That said, I would certainly love to see the Orioles take two out of three and get the starting pitching back on track. I think the most important aspect of this series is to get some stability back, which include but are not limited to starting pitching, hitting, fielding, etc.
Jason Hammel goes tonight, followed by Wei-Yin Chen, and Brian Matusz. Boston counters with Jon Lester, Josh Beckett, and Clay Buckholz. It's a fairly even match up, although through this point in the season, the Orioles are probably on the higher end of the Buckholz game and even in the first two.
Let's get two out of three and then get ready to fight off the obnoxious Phillies fan at OPACY this weekend.
